Meet our featured InCycle Team Member of the Month! David Jung recently joined InCycle Software as a Senior ALM Consultant after spending the last 7 years in at Microsoft Corp. as a Technology Specialist.

Tell us a little about yourself?

Prior to joining InCycle, I was with Microsoft’s Developer and Platform Evangelism group where I helped customers understand and employ software development best practices and tools using Visual Studio, Visual Studio Online, and Team Foundation Server. I’ve been in the IT industry for over 20 years and still have battle scars from programming COBOL on the Mainframe to 4GLs on UNIX to Java on Linux to .NET on Windows. During VB’s hey-day, I was crazy enough to have co-authored 13 books on VB from VB 4 to VB 6 in the span of 6 years.

Why did you join InCycle Software?

InCycle was one of the first ALM partners with whom I collaborated as a Technology Specialist. I consistently enjoyed great success with their consultants. I’ve always been very passionate about ALM and InCycle has some of the best ALM people in the industry. I felt I could really step up my game and make a difference by joining the InCycle team.

What are you doing at InCycle Software?

Having been a development manager for several organizations, I can sympathize with many of our clients as they struggle to improve their software delivery process. As an InCycle ALM consultant, I am able to take my experience and the experience of the company to our clients to assist them in adopting ALM best practices to improve software quality and collaboration with their customers.

What do you enjoy doing at InCycle?

At its heart, ALM is all about people, product, and process. All three need to be firing off on all cylinders to be the most effective. I truly believe the most dangerous phrase is, “but we’ve always done it this way.” Working at InCycle, I get the opportunity to spend the majority of my time working with the client to implement ALM techniques for a small team or across the entire enterprise and break the trend of, “but we’ve always done it this way”. I really enjoy working with customers to help them realize their full ALM potential.

What do you like doing during your free time?

Free time? Is there really such a thing as “free time” when you have a family? Having a good work/life balance has always been important to me as well as keeping up with technology. I still like dabbling in code to see how things works; however, when I’m not doing that, I coach youth basketball at a local community center as well as play on a basketball league myself.
